(ELMTON & CRESWELL VILLAGE COMPANY)
50-54 ELMTON RD, CRESWELL, S80 4JE, Tel 01909 724061
Limestone House (Elmton & Creswell Village Company) is a charitable company and a shining light for regeneration in Elmton and Creswell and the wider locality of this deprived area, delivering excellent and continuing services, community activities and resources which aim to raise the hopes of individuals. Limestone House offers a meeting place to reduce social isolation, improve health and wellbeing, reduce mental health and also offers opportunities to improve ‘Life Skills’ to enhance the quality of life and enable people to gain employment and recreation
We have two coffee mornings running in January on the 24th, to bring everyone together, and on the 31st, to do a seed & plant swop, with Sarah’s cakes, a Tombola, children’s activities and free books for children.
Alongside these events we are running a baby & toddler item sale throughout January with equipment, toys & clothing at January prices when this month is stretched to breaking point.
The Board of Trustees, Staff and Volunteers of Limestone House with the agreement of Miriam’s family decided it would be a wonderful gesture to her memory to ‘Open a Book of Condolence’ where people can write messages of sympathy and support bringing their memories in celebration of her life whilst giving comfort to both family and friends. The book will be made available to all at Limestone House during its opening hours (9am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday). If you are unable to attend in person please email your messages to Creswell_res_point@yahoo.co.uk and we will ensure they are included in the book.
Miriam’s funeral will be held on the 10th February at Chesterfield Crematorium at 3.30pm. Family have requested that those attending wear something RED, Miriams favourite colour.

Many of you will already beware that last Monday Miriam Ibberson a well-known and huge character within the Creswell Village Community very sadly passed away. It was not expected and for many came as a shock not least the Limestone House board, staff, volunteers and beneficiaries. We are aware that she is a profound loss to the community of Creswell but she is a huge loss to those involved in the charitable works of Limestone House. Miriam was a charismatic woman who despite her various on going health issues never allowed them in any way to limit her commitment to community issues. She was inspirational and on many levels helped put ones own frustrations and challenges into perspective. Miriam joined the Limestone House Board in February 2022, quickly becoming our Vice Chair and over the last three years I as Chair of Trustees had the privilege to work closely with Miriam. What I learnt very early on in our time together was how passionate she was for her community and the issues that impacted on lives endeavouring where possible Miriam looked to make a difference. Miriam you have been an inspiration, and you leave a legacy of works, you will be sadly missed and for me personally I have had to say
goodbye to a good friend. RIP
